17th Century Stay

17th Century StayMade of linen, this "corset" is heavily boned. Bones run side by side through out the corset. Even the front panel is completely boned, the boning hidden behind the embroidered panel. Originally this period of "corset" would have been boned with reeds. Today we used plastic bone in order to minimize the weight that would be involved with this much steel.

Note the tabs have been zigzag stitched, this is easiest when done prior to sewing the panels together.

Embroidery was done on the panel before the "corset" was constructed
