Eyelet/grommet/lacing
tape
This tape is used where ever you need to use grommets which
will not be under a lot of stress. The grommets are pre set
but not with washers which is why it is best not to use this
product for garments which will be worn a great deal or will
be tight laced. It is included in our beginner corset kits as
it saves trying to set grommets which is a science of it’s own.
It is easily sewn into place by machine and the white is dyeable
nylon. Use it for a fashion accent.

Lacing Tape with Bone Casing
We are now stocking a new lacing tape made of the same sturdy
coutil as we stock – see numbers 74-1141-01, 74-1141-90, 74-1142-90
on our coutil page. The eyelets are firmly set in two layers
of coutil that have been sewn together to include two bone casings;
one on either side of the grommets/eyelets. BONES ARE NOT INCLUDED.
This product is sold by the meter and you can purchase as much
or as little as you need.
The application of this eyelet/lacing tape is somewhat different
than our usual lacing tape. See Applying

Hooks & Eyes
Hooks and eyes are pre-set on cotton twill tape. The hooks and eyes
are riveted into the tape for added strength. These are not
tiny bra type hooks but large corset type hooks, which are very strong
and not pretty. They are designed to function. Hook tape and eye tape
are sold separately. We also stock loose hooks which
are the same type as the tape they are listed with.

Alternating hook and eye tape is available in the same quality as
above; large riveted corset hooks on strong cotton tape. There are
two differences, the most obvious is that the hooks and eyes alternate
on the same piece of tape. This is the best product to use in dance
costumes as there is no way they will come undone during a particular
move on stage. The second difference is the shape of the hooks; these
are corset style with rounded hooks and triangular eyes.

First a lesson in "what is what" when it
comes to garters. Garter "grips", "tabs"
or "suspenders" are the end piece of the
garter which actually holds the stocking,
these consist of a metal or plastic (we
only stock metal) loop and a rubbery knob.
"Grips" can be regular or "convertible"/
"detachable", the detachable can be removed
easily so they do not go through the laundering
process. Links are made of plastic or metal
(and again we only stock the metal ones)
and their purpose is to "link" the garter
elastic to the garment, these too are detachable
which allows the elastic and garter to be
removed. Slides are made of metal and look
somewhat like a flattened figure eight;
their function is to make the elastic or
garter ribbon adjustable in length.
